2023 DFman Red Ball Golf Tournament
August 12th, 2023 - Harlowton, Montana
Seventeen teams took part in the annual DFman Red Ball tournament at the Jawbone Creek Country Club in Harlowton, Montana. The course was in fantastic shape and played
as hard as it can be with a regular Wheatland County wind of around 15mph in addition to the rough being extra tall thanks to all the rain in June of 2023. There was a lot
of ball searching due to the windy conditions and some of the Red Ball individual scores reflected a number of lost balls. Teams ventured in from all around central and southwest
Montana with towns represented from Helena, Lewistown, Roundup, Livingston, Bozeman, and Three Forks. The tournament is put on by Dallas Fischer who is a Harlowton alumnus. The golf tournament is
a fundraiser for the course and is one of the most profitable weekends for JCCC. This year raised over $3000 for the course for the one day of play.
The Harlowton home team of Central Lumber came out on top for the 2023 tournament shooting a combined 140 score which is 4 under par for the tournament format. The team came in
2nd for the scramble portion but came away with a 7 shot victory due to both Greg Wasson and Dan Olivia winning their respective individual tournaments. Dan Olivia was the player
of the day as he was the only person in the tournament to shoot even par on the course for his individual 5 holes. The father-son duo of Jeff Sell and Eric Sell completed the make-up
of the team and Eric also took 2nd in his individual group.
